long long way

Chicken and pork steamed bun, coffee

Current reads: Long Way Down by Ewan McGregor & Charley Boorman
My niece must have flipped this book more than a hundred times to view the pictures inside, thus, the tattered pages before i even started reading.

okish

Avocado, tomato & bacon chips with italian dressing on cheese & toast, coffee

“Dear Sky, please try not to rain too often between 3.30pm to 4.30pm so that my picture will turn out brighter and less grainy. i would prefer not to involve the tripod as taking a break is meant to be relaxing, not working. Thank you.”

yummy 30

Butter cupcakes with raisins, almonds, pecan nuts and walnuts, coffee

We baked 30 cupcakes yesterday! They turned out quite ugly* but luckily very yummy (even better than the last time). i have already thought of a fun idea to decorate for the next round, can’t wait to bake again!
*One can’t have high expectation with a 2-yr old who was in charge of helping to place the nuts, but at least everyone had great fun :-)

balance

McSpicy chicken burger, strawberries

Sinful fast food plus healthy fruits, i hope that balanced up :-p

catching up

Pandan cake, tea biscuits, coffee

Current reads: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
Finally, back to my regular reading, there’s lots to catch up. i loved the previous book, The Kite Runner, by the same author, crossing my fingers that this will be as good or even better!

more curry

Fried vermicelli with string beans, carrot and beansprout, chicken curry with potato and radish, pre-packed thai mango.

Friday, 19 March 2010

super long name

Toast with “pork belly, fried skin, intestines, radish, cabbage, fishball, vermicelli curry”, coffee
Super yum!

i didn’t realise the picture proportion was set to 3:2 instead of the usual 16:9 i used. i kind of quite like it now, maybe will frame in different proportion in future.

keep cool

Toast with peach conserve, nutty bar chocolate, coffee

One of the work files that i was working on over the weekend was damaged when the system was forced to restart suddenly. Failing to recover the file after trying for two hours late last night, i sent an apology email to the client for not able to meet the deadline. i went to bed with the problem bugging me and ended up with a bad dream – i had ran into the client and was deeply embarrassed upon seeing her... Luckily the client replied my email first thing in the morning and was cool about it. Phew!

deal

Chocolate and custard buns, coffee.
These buns from Provence are so soft and yummy. i had three :-p

Current browse: Mag-art by Charlotte Rivers and 1000 Type Treatments by WilsonHarvey/Loewy
i bought these at $8 each today! Although both books are not newly published, but the deal was too good to be missed (original price at $45.90 and $61.90 respectively). From Borders :-)

sweet and spicy

Soon kueh and peng kueh with sweet black sauce and chilli. Banana*. Coffee.

Something is wrong with the composition but i couldn’t pin it down, maybe the sauce on the kuehs was too messy, or the fork was too big to go with the small plate. Took two shots, both equally ugly.

*i’m not really crazy about bananas, but it’s going to take a few days to finish this bunch.

real vs fake

Fried noodle with chicken, shrimps, bean sprouts, celery and chinese kale, banana, coffee.

Tuesday, 9 March 2010

colourful tuesday

Chocolate swiss roll, papaya, orange, coffee...

... and the two dolls that were abused by my niece – she loves to hold them by the hair, remove their accessories and threw them in any weird position you can think of.

cheerful monday

Sunny side up with crispy bacon bits and cheese on toast, camomile tea.

Happy International Women’s Day!

dripped

Wholemeal bun dipped in coffee, mango pudding with nata de coco.

Very often, i thought i was very hungry and took extra helping to the food, half way through the first bun, i already knew there’s no way i could eat the second.

24 cupcakes

Chocolate moist cupcakes with walnuts and almond nuts, ice green tea.

Another Betty Crocker cake (we used the mix to make into 24 cupcakes instead of one big cake)! And this time round, it’s even better than the first. As usual, my niece was my biggest fan, she kept telling me its good :-)

trying her luck

My cute 2-yr old niece thought that since i was looking at the camera (and not her), it’s safe for her to go for the biscuit.

Me: Put your hands where i can see them (this phrase is obviously the result of watching too much 24).

Trying her luck after 2 seconds. i was trying not to laugh while looking through the viewfinder.

Her (thinking): Oh she’s not looking... grab now!

Me: Put it back!
Her: Hurhurhur (her usual caught-in-the-act laughing)

Cuteness to the max!
